We are pleased to announce the exhibition En suspens of Maude Corriveau, 6th recipient of the Yvonne L. Bombardier Graduate Scholarship in Visual Arts. An initiative born out of a common desire from the service of philanthropic activities and the Yvonne L. Bombardier Cultural Center, this scholarship aims to contribute to the next generation of visual arts in Quebec. To visit the exhibition, please contact us to make an appointment.

Through the exhibition En suspens featuring of works on paper, Maude Corriveau is interested in the theme of the screen as a window but also as a partition. The action of light on matter is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Corriveau. With the use of dichroic glass forms, this time she creates still lifes in which materials are reflected and superimposed. The glass disperses the light in iridescent spectra, creating illusionist and minimalist images, where the reflections act as spaces in suspense. The dry pastel worked in gradations and by accumulation of fine layers, imitates digital luminosity. While the place of screens in the current context leads us to see more but to perceive less, the exhibition In suspense raises both perceptual and sensory questions.
