Galerie Nicolas Robert is proud to present Sa robe est une voûte, an exhibition by Élise Lafontaine. Sheltered from alcoves, in a cell or at the limits of life, the artist multiplies arts residencies, in search of new pictorial experiences related to confinement. In this series, the artist depicts, in abstract language, the effects of volumes and lights of the Abbey of St.Maurice in Switzerland, while questioning the existence of these places today. The magnetic perspective of the arches induced by geometric abstraction oscillates between a mystical representation worthy of the famous poems of Therese of Avila and the confinement of the body reduced to its simplest skeleton.
