Samuelle Grande
Folie à deux

From May 30 to July 6, 2024

Galerie Nicolas Robert is pleased to present Folie à deux, an exhibition of new works by Samuelle Grande. Grande’s show features medium-sized oil paintings that aspire to the conditions of poetry. Through painterly negotiation, the paintings embrace abstraction and representation, committed to a world where binaries do not exist. The paintings present feelings, processes of thoughts and corporeality. The title of the exhibition draws on the concept of Folie à deux, a shared delusion between two people in a close relationship. At the root of this delusion is a necessity to obliterate reality through world-building. To create this new body of work, the artist began by making drawings from memory, using these as inspiration for related paintings.
